Important H1N1 Vaccination Update
At the request of the Prince William Health District (PWHD), a free H1N1 vaccination clinic will be held at Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge on Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. While this clinic is open to the public, it will target priority groups identified by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Please note the PWHD has extended this priority designation to PWCS employees who work directly with students.

These CDC target groups include:

- Pregnant women.
- People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age.
- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel.
- Children between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old.
- People between 25 and 64 years of age who are at higher risk for H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.

Both the FluMist and the injectable form of the H1N1 vaccine will be available. Even if someone has already had a flu-like illness, the CDC recommends that you still get vaccinated for H1N1. For information about "Prior Illness" and more, please visit the
CDC's "Questions & Answers" page (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/public/vaccination_qa_pub.htm).

This is part of our continued working relationship with the Prince William Health District to help inform everyone about important H1N1 news, and get as many people vaccinated at possible.

Please Report your Student's Illnesses
It is important that you call to report your child's absence as soon as possible, especially when it is due to illness. Please give basic information regarding your child’s illness when calling, stating if he or she has a fever and if there are any other symptoms of influenza. Please do NOT wait to report their illness until they return to school. Thank you for doing your part to help keep Woodbridge Middle students, families, and staff members healthy!
